Selective Inhibition of the Growth of Green Plants and Fungi by Beta Methyl Umbelliferone

Abstract

Beta-Methylumbelliferone inhibited germination and growth of Red Kidney bean and cucumber,the degree of inhibition being in proportion to the concn. of the chemical in the soil. It also inhibited the growth of 3 pathogenic fungi, Poria monticola, Fusarium lycopersici, and Monilinia fructicola.
