Eclogites and Associated Albite-Epidote-Garnet Paragneisses between Yambe and Cape Colnett, New Caledonia

Abstract
Mantle xenoliths from the West Eifel, West Germany revealing distinct disequilibrium textures were formed by strong shear deformation from coarse grained, high temperature spinel peridotites. Foliated structures are caused by the roughly parallel alignment of elongated orthopyToxenc porphyroclasts up to 8 × 2 mm in size and streched patches of clinopyroxene and spinel in a matrix of recrystallized olivine, orthopyroxene, clinopyroxene, and spinel.
