Abstract
The preparation of certain quinolines, quinazolines, quinoxalines, benzoxazines and benzothiazines containing the cyclic hydroxamic grouping is described. In vitro antibacterial activities showed that no compound had a broader spectrum of activity than the known 1,2-dihydro-1-hydroxy-2-oxoquinoline.Keywords
