Abstract
Eight patients with active toxoplasmic retinochoroiditis were treated with clindamycin and a triple sulfonamide combination for a period of up to 6 wk. In addition systemic prednisone was administered when the optic nerve or the macula was involved (6 of the 8 cases). In all cases clinical improvement was observed within 2 wk. Visual acuity improved in all cases. Side effects of the treatment were observed in 2 cases. The follow-up period ranged from 8 to 22 mo.Keywords
