Abstract
Adenosine phosphoric acid was prepared according to Embden and Zimmermann, and inosinic acid from its Ba salt. Measurements with the hydrogen and chinhydrone electrode, calculated according to the formulas of Auerbach and Smolz-cyk, gave the following dissociation constants at 23[degree]: adenosine phosphoric acid pK1=3.8, pK2 = 6.2, inosinic acid pK1=2.4, pK2 = 6.3. [long dash]6.5. In addition to the effect of ammonia formation in the splitting of adenosine phosphoric acid in muscle, the change of dissociation constant would tend to increase alkalinity.
