New Phase Boundary for Cerium

Abstract
The phase boundary for the high-pressure superconducting α phase of cerium has been determined from 77 to 480°K from observations of the resistance anomaly which occurs at the αα transition. The observed transition pressure at 297°K is 55.8±0.5 kbar, varying linearly with temperature with PT=34.9 bar/deg. The change in the electronic properties of cerium as a function of pressure is discussed.
