Avian Lymphomatosis. III. Incidence and Manifestations in Experimentally Infected Chickens of Various Ages

Abstract
The response of a line of 3 generations of S-line White Leghorn chickens of various ages to lymphomatosis isolated JM is reported. Day-old chicks were approximately 1000 to more than 10,000 times as susceptible as their dams and granddams. Moreover, the host response of these chickens to the same isolate differentially demonstrated the neural form to dominate the clinico-pathologic syndrome in young chickens and the visceral form in mature birds.
