Abstract
Inhibitory properties of chlorpromazine, promazine, promethazine and chlorpromazine sulfoxide toward cytochrome oxidase and ATP-ase in rat-brain mitochondria were studied. Of these compounds, chlorpromazine sulfoxide evinced no inhibitory effect toward the enzyme systems in contrast to the other 3. Some correlation between the in vitro inhibitor property and the pharmacological activity of the drugs is pointed out. Keywords
