RECLAMATION OF STREPTOCOCCAL CELLS FOR REUSE IN ADSORPTION OF ANTISERA

Abstract
A technique is descr. whereby streptococcus cells used for adsorption of serum antibody may be treated and reclaimed for repeated use. The procedure involves treatment with [image]/5 HCl followed by washing with physiological saline and neutralization with [image]/1 NaOH. By this means single harvestings of streptococcus cells were used as many as 8 times for adsorption of group antibody in the prepn. of type specific antisera. Mixing of cells and saline is effected by a midget household electric mixer.
