Abstract
The serum lipoprotein pattern of immature rabbits, detd. by ultracentrifugation at a density of 1.21 showed 2 main peaks, -S35 (20-40) and -S7 (1-10). After castration, or castration and treatment with diethylstilbestrol (1 mg./day for 14 days), no significant modification in the serum lipoprotein pattern was noted. Only testosterone (20 mg./day for 14 days) altered significantly and regularly the lipoprotein pattern of castrate rabbits by the appearance of 2 abnormal components: (1), -S > 70 and (2), -S (40-70); both disappeared on cessation of treatment. Keywords
