Trophic effect of tetragastrin on the stomach, duodenum and pancreas in rats.

Abstract
S.c. injections of a large dose of tetragastrin (2 mg/day) into a rat for 4 wk caused hypertrophy of parietal cells of the stomach, intestinal glandular cells of the duodenum and pancreatic ancinar cells. The histometrical analysis showed that the tropic effects of tetragastrin were produced in varying degrees in different sites.
