Comment on theπNσTerm

Abstract

The sum rule for the on-shell pion-nucleon scattering amplitude at the Cheng-Dashen (CD) point $\nu ={\nu }_B=0\mathrm{}$ has been recalculated. Instead of the value 1.7${\mathrm{\mu }}^{-1\mathrm{}}$ as obtained by CD, we find $T(0, 0)\simeq 1.1{\mu }^{-1\mathrm{}} \mathrm{and} 1.3{\mu }^{-1\mathrm{}}$, when the new and old Lovelace phase shifts are used, respectively.
