Abstract
Some stationary solutions of the transport equation describing the diffusion and slowing down of neutrons in an infinite homogeneous medium (Section 1 and 2) are presented for the following cases: constant mean free path, power spectrum in energy and exponential behavior in space (Section 3); constant m.f.p., point source of fast neutrons (Section 4); variable m.f.p. proportional to a power of velocity, point source of fast neutrons (Section 5). For this last case the possibility of actual numerical computation of the neutron distribution is displayed on one example, approximately describing conditions in water or paraffin.
