NMR investigations and nuclear magnetic moment of 33S

Abstract

The ratio of the Larmor frequencies of ³³S and ⁸⁵Rb has been measured and a magnetic moment for ³³S of μ(³³S in SO₄ ^2- in D₂O) =0.643 1028(14)/μ_N has been calculated. ³³S chemical shifts have been determined and the SO₄ ^2- ion in aqueous alkali sulfate solutions is proposed as ³³S NMR reference compound.
