Abstract
Administration of a variety of nonfibrinolytic, nonenzymatic substances induces fibrinolysis in man. The most potent materials of this type known at present are purified protein-free pyrogens. Their action after intravenous injection on the human fibrinolytic system, on some of its components, and on the clotting system of 67 individuals has been studied. The possible therapeutic implications are discussed of the marked fibrinolysis.Keywords
