New Value for the Magnetic Moment of the Antiproton

Abstract

From a study of the fine-structure splittings in antiprotonic atoms formed in Pb and U, we have obtained a precise value of the $\overline{p}$ magnetic moment: ${\mu }_{\overline{p}}=(-2.819\mathrm{}\pm 0.056){\mu }_N$.
