Abstract
Measurement of the relative sign of inelastic proton-channel amplitudes permits the determination of amplitude correlations. Data were obtained for resonances in . Although the reduced widths in each channel followed a Porter-Thomas distribution, large amplitude correlations were observed. The results are compared with the reduced-width-amplitude distribution of Krieger and Porter. This is the first direct test of the Krieger-Porter distribution.
