Abstract
We have measured the three-photon resonant, four-photon ionization profile of atomic hydrogen. The width of the profile is large compared with the laser bandwidth, fine-structure splitting, Doppler width, and radiative and collisional rates. The shape, shift, width, and laser intensity dependence of the measured profiles are in excellent agreement with theoretical predictions. Keywords
