A model from electron microscopy for the molecular structure of fibrinogen and fibrin

Abstract
The overall architecture of the fibrinogen molecule and aspects of its packing to form fibrin were derived from a study of EM images of ordered arrays. The molecule, of length 450 .ANG., is seen in more detail than the Hall-Slayter model and is made up of 7 globular domains connected by rod-like segments. [The model developed should allow for better understanding of human and bovine fibrin and fibrinogen.].
