Abstract
Superexchange interaction in the MnO crystal is studied by using the Heitler-London picture including overlap. Mechanisms proposed by Slater, Kramers and Anderson, and Goodenough are developed on the same basis. The energy difference between the antiparallel spin state and the parallel spin state is computed numerically in the case of the simple four-electron problem. Keywords
