Abstract
L forms of Proteus vulgaris OXK, Proteus sp. strain 52 and P. mirabilis strain K were grown in pure culture in the following liquid medium: K2HPO4, 16 g; KH2PO4, 2 g; Na citrate 5H2O, 1 g; MgSO4.7H4.7H2O, 0.2 g; nicotinamide 35 mg; vitamin-free casamino acids 10 g; 1000 ml distilled water. 300 units/ml of penicillin G were added after sterilization. The medium which was inoculated with portions of agar containing L colonies developed turbidity within 3 to 7 days. The growth consisted mainly of small granular forms and bacillary forms were never observed. Keywords
