Abstract
Recently reported satellite transitions in nickel and iron are shown to be two-electron, one-photon transitions involving and electrons satisfying the Heisenberg two-electron selection rules. Relativistic Dirac-Fock transition energies agree with the experimental data, and theoretical transition energies are presented for other elements.
