Abstract
Pople's recent criticism of the results obtained, for the high temperature susceptibility of a permanent dipole lattice, by Van Vleck and by Rosenberg and Lax is shown to be unjustified. Two alternative derivations are given of the relations obtained by Van Vleck et al. It is shown that Kirkwood's correlation parameter, g. depends upon dipole-dipole interactions. Keywords
