Abstract
The theory of Kirkwood and Auer is extended to include the dependence of the viscoelastic moduli of solutions of rod‐like macromolecules on rate of shear. Power series expansions in the rate of shear of the intrinsic viscosity and intrinsic rigidity are constructed. In the stationary case, the intrinsic viscosity is presented as a function of rate of shear with use of coefficients of the pertinent spherical harmonics kindly supplied by H. H. Scheraga. Keywords
