The Basal Metabolic Rate and the Effects of Thiouracil Administration and of Thyroidectomy on Control and Vitamin B6-Deficient Rats

Abstract
The basal metabolic rate of vitamin B6-deficient rats was found not to be different from that of pair-fed controls, though lower than that of ad libitum-fed controls. Attempts to alter the basal metabolic rate either by the administration of thiouracil or by thyroidectomy did not cause definite alterations in the syndrome of vitamin B6 deficiency.
