Conversion of Diopterin and Teropterin into Folic and Folinic Acid Activity by the Rat Liver.

Abstract
Summary Isolated rat livers were perfused with blood containing equimolar concentrations of PGA, Diopterin, and Teropterin. Both conjugates gave rise to folic and folinic acid activity. Teropterin, a gamma-conjugate, was a more effective precursor for folinic acid than Diopterin, an alpha-conjugate.
