Abstract
An acid soluble protein fraction antigen and a whole larval antigen were used in the bentonite flocculation test for the diagnosis of trichinosis. No consistent differences in the reactivity of the 2 antigens were obtained from serums of hogs, and rabbits. The acid soluble fraction that can be stored indefinitely, seemed to confer upon the flocculation test a somewhat greater sensitivity, and produced a test easier to read and to interpret. No false positives were observed with either antigen. False negatives occurred especially with serums from hogs which had received mild infections.
