Abstract
Difficulties are illustrated by a series of curves plotting enzyme activity of distilled water homogenates of rat liver, kidney, cortex, intestinal mucosa, and spleen at pH levels of 4.0-9.1. Substrates employed include adenosine triphosphate, glucose-6-phosphate, hexose diphosphate, phenyl-phosphate, [beta]-glycerophosphate, adenosine-5-monophosphate, adenosine-3-monophosphate. The findings are compared with the histochemical staining reactions. Keywords
