He3Scattering from Nickel and Zirconium Isotopes

Abstract
Angular distributions for elastic and inelastic He3 scattering from Ni58, Ni60, Ni61, Ni64, Zr90, Zr91, Zr92, and Zr94 targets have been compiled at an incident beam energy of 25 MeV. Optical-model fits were obtained to the He3 elastic scattering angular distributions. Collective-model distorted-wave calculations were made for the inelastic scattering, utilizing the parameters obtained from the optical-model analysis of the elastic scattering, and deformation parameters were extracted. The inelastic transitions in Ni61 are interpreted by the core-excitation model.
