Abstract
The 1.55 µm widely tunable sampled grating lasers described here show significant improvements over those previously reported. The authors have obtained, for the first time, continuous wave (CW) operation with 62 nm CW tuning range, 30–50 dB MSR, 10 mW output power, and monotonic tuning. Keywords
