Abstract
Studies were made of the plasma, total blood, red cell, and extracellular fluid vols., hematocrit, plasma protein, total circulating protein, and fluorescein circulation time in 23 normal Macaca mulatta monkeys. Ten animals were studied during summer and 13 during winter mos. A seasonal variation consisting of increased plasma, blood and extracellular vols. in the summer was found which is similar to that previously reported in human subjects. Only the vol. of the extracellular fluid was found to be statistically significantly higher in summer. The similarity of the various values obtained on monkeys to those previously reported in man is pointed out. Keywords
