Abstract
A technic for measurement of the extracellular fluid space employing a brief infusion of Na-thiosulfate and collection of several small blood samples for 1 hr. is presented. The volumes of distr. in 7 dogs averaged 24.4% of body wt. and in 6 humans averaged 16.6% of body wt. In non-edematous patients with fever, normal values were obtained and in 5 patients with edema thiosulfate spaces averaged 24.0% of body wt.This publication has 16 references indexed in Scilit:
