Abstract
Single domain ferromagnetic particles at elevated temperatures can behave magnetically in a manner analogous to the Langevin paramagnetism of moment‐bearing atoms. The main distinction is that the moment of the particle may be 105 times the atomic moment. The experimental and theoretical foundations of this effect are reviewed and indication is made of the applications of this phenomenon.
