Abstract
Glycerol is oxidized to CO2 by the combined activities of (a) a mito-chondrial preparation from germinated peanut cotyledons which contains presumably a glycerol kinase, glycerol phosphate dehydrogenase, and the TCA cycle system, and (b) a soluble protein fraction from the supernatant fraction of germinated peanut cotyledons which contains enzymes of the glycolytic cycle. The properties and cofactors of this complete system are described. This publication has 11 references indexed in Scilit:
