Oral and Parenteral Administration of Iron in the Prevention and Treatment of Baby Pig Anemia

Abstract
One hundred seventy-five baby pigs were given either no iron supplementation, oral iron tablets, or an intramuscular injection of iron-dextran with or without an intraperitoneal injection of vitamins. Hematological evidence established the superiority of intramuscular iron-dextran. No improvement was achieved by adding an intraperitoneal injection of certain vitamins. Copyright © . .
