Abstract
On the background of present information on the structure and functions of the tissue mast cells, the role of these cells in various skin disorders is reviewed. Special attention has been devoted to regeneration and repair of connective tissue, inflammation, dermal edema, mastocytosis (urticaria pigmentosa), tumors, systemic mesenchymoses, urticaria, erythema multiforme, Cushing''s disease, myxedema, localized myxedema, and thyrotoxicosis. Keywords
