Azobenzene-Aramite and Azobenzene-Chlorobenzilate Sprays for Resistant Spider Mites on Greenhouse Roses1

Abstract
Excellent control of resistant strains of the two-spotted spider mite (Tetranvchus telarius on greenhouse roses was obtained with sprays in which 1.5 lb. of 70% azobenzene wettable powder was combined with either 0.75 lb. of 15% Aramite wettable powder or 0.75 lb. of 25% Chlorobenzilate wettable powder per 100 gal of water. Bleaching of the flowers did not appear to be the serious problem it had been with azobenzene fumigation; of 5 ranges which extensively used the sprays, 3 reported no bleaching.
