Abstract
Organic matter is destroyed by rapid wet ashing with a mixture of sulfuric, perchloric and nitric acids using V as a catalyst. The ferric pyrophosphate complex is decomposed by heating the ash soln. with phenanthroline and a reducing agent with max. color development in less than 30 sec. Cu is determined as the diethyldithiocarbamate complex after extraction with isoamyl alcohol. Recoveries are 98% for Fe and 99% for Cu.Keywords
