Abstract
The effect of excluding pancreatic juice from the duodenum in response to a meat meal was studied in 3 dogs with a Heidenhain pouch (HP) and pancreatic fistula. Exclusion of pancreatic juice resulted in a higher acid output from the HP, and an increase in volume rate of secretion and bicarbonate output from the pancreas. These effects were abolished by reinstilling pancreatic juice into the duodenum. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
