Study of theNb93(nres, γ)Nb94Reaction

Abstract
The high-energy γ-ray spectra following capture in one s-wave and three p-wave resonances in Nb have been observed with a Ge(Li) detector. The low-lying energy levels of Nb94 inferred from the data are consistent with those previously reported on the basis of (d, p) and low-energy (n, γ) data. From the observed decay properties of the intial states, the spin assignments for the resonances are inferred to be Jrπ=5(35.8 eV), 4+(119.2 eV), 4 or 5(42.3 eV), 3 or 4(94.3 eV). The distribution of partial radiative widths for the three p-wave resonances is consistent with that predicted by the statistical compound-nucleus model.
