Abstract
For the first time and in contrast to a recent experiment, a pronounced nonspherical angular distribution for the fragment ions following double photoionization of has been observed. In addition, the accompanying cross section has turned out to be surprisingly small in comparison to the prediction of a recent theoretical investigation. Both observations suggest that the dynamics of double photoionization for the simplest two-center two-electron system remains an open problem.
