GONADOTROPIC ACTION OF NORMAL MALE URINE EXTRACT ON THE DOG

Abstract

An extract of normal [male] urine was found comparable to menopause urine extract in inducing estrous reactions in 11 of 12 normal dogs. There occurred excessive follicle stimulation, in which the ovary increased greatly in wt.; resorption of embryos. The extract induced all normal external signs of estrus, and also vaginal smear changes. This extract is called "prospermin.".
