COUNTERCURRENT DISTRIBUTION STUDIES OF E. COLI B sRNA

Abstract
Escherlchta coli B soluble ribonucleic acid (sRNA), was subjected to extensive countercurrent distribution in a modified phosphate, formamide and isopropanol system. Assay for amino-acid acceptor-activity employing 16 amino acids re-vealed the presence of 29 specific sRNA''s. Six were single peaks; 8 were double; proline sRNA consisted of 3; and leucine sRNA, 4.
