Assessment of aorto-iliac disease by non-invasive quantitative Doppler waveform analysis

Abstract
Summary: The results of this study demonstrate that frequency analysis recordings of the femoral artery waveform are of value in the quantitative analysis of the severity of aortoiliac disease. In 45 patients, pulsatility index measurements were found to correlate (r = 0·82) with the pressure gradient measured directly across the aortofemoral segment. The implications and the limitations of this technique are discussed.
