Abstract
In this study a dual effect of morphine is described as being 1st an augmentation and 2d and much longer lasting a retardation of the normal "efficiency gradient." The phase of retardation in the normal "efficiency gradient" in which motility in the lower segments more nearly approaches that of the proximal segments in extent and character may account for constipation after morphine adm. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
