Hormone Assays in Klinefelter's Syndrome

Abstract
Methods of hormone assay were applied to the study of 23 patients with Klinefelter's syndrome and 29 healthy men of comparable age. A total of 321 assays was performed and the mean values for the excretion of urinary steroids by each individual were subjected to statistical analysis. This revealed a significantly low excretion of urinary neutral 17-ketosteroids, pregnanediol, pregnanetriol, estrone and, to a lesser extent, estradiol-17β, in the group of patients with the syndrome.
