Abstract
Beta-ray transitions of energies 1478 ± 6 kev. from Co60 (5.3 yr.) and 1475 ± 6 kev. from Sc46 (84 d.) were observed with intensities of (1.0 ± 0.2) × 10−4 and (3.6 ± 0.7) × 10−5 β-rays per disintegration respectively. Forbidden spectrum shapes were obtained for both transitions. No evidence was obtained for the β-ray transition of energy 1451 kev. from Cs134 (2.3 yr.), nor for the transition of energy 473 kev. from Hg203 (47.9 d.), and upper limits of 5 × 10−5 and 3 × 10−4 β-rays per disintegration respectively are placed upon the intensities of these transitions. The log f0 t values are > 14.5, 14.0 ± 0.1, 13.0 ± 0.1, and > 11.3 for the transitions referred to from Cs134, Co60, Sc46, and Hg203 respectively.
