THE INCORPORATION OF AMINO ACIDS INTO RIBONUCLEIC ACID

Abstract
A soluble enzyme system isolated from guinea pig liver which incorporates labeled amino acid into RNA has been separated into two components: an activating enzyme fraction and an RNA acceptor fraction. Both are needed for incorporation of amino acids into ribonucleic acid. Activating enzyme fractions specific for tyrosine and leucine are required for the incorporation of the respective amino acid and presumed to exist for the other amino acids. The RNA acceptors appear also to be specific for each amino acid present in the sequence.
