Voltage-Measuring and -Control Equipment for Electrostatic Generators

Abstract

The use of the electrostatic analyzer as a voltage‐measuring instrument for use with an electrostatic generator is described. This instrument is equipped with electrical detectors which are convenient for operating automatic regulating devices for keeping the high voltage source at a constant potential. With the equipment described it is possible to measure and control the average energy of the protons accelerated by the electrostatic generator with an accuracy of about 0.1 percent.
