Abstract
The clinical and patho-logical findings in 5 children under 2 years of age who experienced febrile convulsions are described. None of the patients had primary neurological disease. At post mortem, neuronal necrosis of the cerebral cortex, basal ganglia and cerebellum were found. It is suggested that the changes result from systemic anoxia. Febrile convulsions as a cause of epilepsy, various spastic conditions and behavior disorders are considered.
